The original Rubik's snake (or Rubik's twist) had 24 pieces. Below are some of the most common patterns. I have made an applet that allows the patterns to be rotated in 3D, uncoiled step by step, and put together again.
Longer versions of the snake are now for sale, but there are very few shapes to be found. Below I give some patterns for the 48-wedge and the 72-wedge snakes, some gathered from the web and some I have made myself. The shapes for the 48-wedge snake can also be made with two original (24-wedge) snakes, while the shapes for the 72-wedge snake require three original ones.
